We would really like to contact the person who put a Remembrance cross for CJ Beard at the Lych Gate on Sunday last.

A quick look at records that survive:- a letter was received at Woolwich Dockyard on 20 Oct 1918  from Mr Beard asking about his son’s health; the letter shows that it was written from Red Lion High Street Wellington. CJ Beard served in Salonica.

If your relative is the CJ Beard referred to in these documents and commemorated on the Lych Gate, we would very much like to have your help in researching and telling his story.
