John Jauncey, another of the names that we’re researching from the Lych Gate Memorial, is a bit of a mystery.  His parents, or  possibly people  who brought him up as his parents, lived on Mill Fields in Wellington.  Only there were two Jauncey families that lived four doors apart.  One family had a son called John, but he lived beyond the end of World War One, and had three children after ‘our’ John was killed in the war.  The other family don’t seem to have a son called John.

If there are any descendants of the Wellington Jauncey’s out there, it would be great to hear from you!

He’s also remembered on the Nuneaton War Memorial.  Maybe there are still some descendants there?
